Future Projects

Our books are driven by passion and a belief that books still play an important part in our lives as both storytellers and readers. We are convinced that printed books still have a place in the modern world but we firmly embrace the modern formats of books: iBooks, Kindles or other electronic platforms.

Over the years we have partnered with many esteemed organisations such as HP, Nikon, Plexus Cotton, English Heritage, The 48 Group Club, The Northwest Development Agency (UK), The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company and The University of Liverpool, amongst others, and who like us believe in the value and legacy of printed books.

Many of our projects take years in preparation and development: some come to realisation quicker than others whilst some slowly mature. Below are a few of our ongoing current projects.

We welcome suggestions, ideas and comments.

  • Softly Flows the Dee

This lavish, hardback book will be a glorious panoramic photographic tour of The River Dee: a celebration of one of Britain’s legendary rivers. It takes us on a journey following this fabled river - known as Afon Dyfrdwy in Welsh- from the hills of north Wales to the Irish Sea.

The journey begins as the Dee rises in a bubbling spring amongst the rocky crags of Y Dduallt above Llanuwchllyn and the book traces the river’s route from this picturesque source through the beautiful lake Bala (Llyn Tegid), following it for 70 miles till it joins the wide estuary that divides the principality of Wales from England’s Wirral peninsula.

  • Waterfronts

This book is part of our new series of special ‘souvenir’ books and will incorporate photographs selected from our extensive library of the magnificent Liverpool (UK) waterfront, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has an historical legacy that is acknowledged worldwide.

Other subjects planned include the famous Hanseatic city - and port - of Hamburg, the 2,000 year old port of Barcelona, and the vibrant, exciting city and port of Shanghai.

  • China Cross-Cultural Book Series

We are planning a series of cross-cultural China focused books linked in to our Sino Creative Associates team. These will be 'celebratory' books, lavishly illustrated with contemporary and historical photographs, and other images. They include a focus on the rural provinces on Gansu and Guizhou.

They will incorporate well-crafted and insightful essays by informed writers, journalists and experts, and contain detailed information and anecdotes about China and its cross cultural links with foreign countries; as well as profiles of interesting and intriguing people. Further details forthcoming.

  • Snack Shots

Roadside snack bars are one of the most loved and welcome sights along Britain’s highways and byways and have offered a haven to travellers, truckers and tourists for umpteen decades - and some have become legendary amongst seasoned drivers, the very byword for comfort food.

This fabulously – and wittily - illustrated book features snack bars across the land, from the moorlands of Devon and Cornwall to the Highlands of Scotland, from the flat plains of Lancashire to the lovely vales of Yorkshire, the hills and beauty of Wales with even a few tucked away in bleak suburban locations.

In a series of fascinating photographs Snack Shots will capture the essence of snack bars and feature the folk and the menus that make up this rather special group who cater to the needs of the professional driver and the scenic tourist.
